LA STORIES
Before N.W.A., the Rodney King riots, Pro Tools, O.J. trial, and the gentrification of Venice, I was a.k.a. Jay Days. The 80s Los Angeles music scene was an eclectic mix of rock, jazz, punk, soul, and the emergence of hip hop which was going to change the course of pop music. I was a young guitarist from South Texas that grew up in love with R &B, mariachi, the Beatles, the blues, and Dick Dale’s surf music. When I came to LA in the early 80s I wore those sounds on my sleeve and released them out through a 1957 Stratocaster on these tracks.
Many of these recordings are unreleased until now.
